First-run setup
Three steps take you from a fresh install to a schedulable team.
1. Set your studio basics
Schedules → Settings (every field is documented in the settings reference):
- Day window — the earliest and latest schedulable times (default 10:30–21:30). The availability painter and the schedule builder both span exactly this window.
- Timezone — the studio's timezone. It drives calendar feeds and the POS integration.
- Granularity — the grid step for painting and scheduling (default 15 minutes).
- Week starts on — the weekday your schedule weeks begin (Monday by default). Decide this now: it locks once the first schedule or painted availability exists, because stored weeks are keyed to their first day.
- Active days — which weekdays your studio operates.
- Qualifiers — one per line. Everyone is a baseline "paint person"; qualifiers like
openerandclosergate shifts that require them. - Event catalogue — the event types the builder can place (party, class, …).
2. Add your staff
Schedules → Staff users — name, email, qualifiers. Each person is emailed a temporary password and must change it on first login. Full details in Managing staff.
3. Point staff at the portal
Staff log in at yoursite.com/staff — bookmark-worthy, works on phones. From there they
paint availability and everything else in the
staff portal guide.
Next: understand the weekly rhythm, then build your first week in the builder.
