Painting your availability

The Availability tab is a paintable grid of your studio's week. Everything starts Unavailable — you paint the hours you can work. Pick a brush, then press and drag across a day:

  • Prefer (to work) — hours you'd love to be scheduled
  • Available (can work) — hours that are fine
  • Dislike (but can) — hours you can cover but would rather not
  • Unavailable (erase) — hours you can't work

On a phone, hold it sideways — the whole day fits the screen, horizontal drags paint, and swiping up/down scrolls the page as usual. Only when the grid is too wide to fit (e.g. portrait) does a ✋ Paint mode / ↔ Scroll mode toggle appear, to switch between painting and scrolling the grid.

The 💡 how-to tip above the grid can be dismissed with its ✕ — it stays hidden on that device.

Helpers

  • Copy last week — repeat what you painted before, then adjust.
  • Clear week — wipe the week and start over.
  • The per-brush hours summary under the grid shows how much of each kind you've painted.
  • Days with approved time off are marked and can't be painted.

Submitting

Press Submit availability when you're done. You can update and resubmit any time — until the week is published. You can paint the current week and the next three (use the week selector at the top).

Once a manager publishes a week's schedule, that week shows 🔒 Published — locked: your availability for it can no longer change (the schedule is already built on it). Paint an upcoming week instead.

What the brushes mean to your manager

Prefer, Available, and Dislike all count as can work. Dislike simply tells your manager "I'd rather not" — if they schedule you there anyway, they see a soft warning first. Hours you leave Unavailable show them a strong warning, but the final call is always theirs — see how the builder uses availability.
